Role Description

AlphaGov is seeking a Classification & Compensation Analyst to support an active municipal classification and compensation study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026).

• Review and refine job descriptions for classification accuracy and consistency
• Administer salary surveys and analyze market data against peer sets
• Perform internal-equity and pay-compression analysis
• Draft classification recommendations and supporting analytical tables
• Contribute analyst qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned

Qualifications

• Classification and compensation analysis experience
• Salary-survey methods experience
• HR data analysis skills
• Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites

• Public-sector compensation study experience (Nice to have)
• Job evaluation methodology (point factor, market pricing, or comparable) (Nice to have)
• South Carolina local-government familiarity (Nice to have)
