Role Description

AlphaGov is seeking a Sworn Public-Safety (Police/Fire) Compensation Specialist to lead the sworn public-safety compensation workstream on an active municipal classification and compensation study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026).

• Lead the sworn public-safety compensation workstream for police and fire pay-grade structure analysis
• Conduct sworn-rank market benchmarking against peer municipalities and public-safety agencies
• Review public-safety classification structures and recommend grade/rank alignments
• Produce clear analytical work products and client-ready findings for the project lead and proposal team
• Contribute sworn public-safety compensation qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned

Qualifications

• Direct experience with police/fire (sworn) compensation or classification studies
• Public-sector or public-safety HR consulting background
• Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites

Requirements

• South Carolina local-government experience (nice to have)
• Prior classification and compensation study leadership (nice to have)
• Presentations to public-safety command staff, Boards, or Councils (nice to have)
