Role Description
Udemy seeks a Sales and Solutions Engineer with strong communication and organizational skills, software development knowledge, and a passion for helping businesses become modern learning organizations to support our business in Japan. The role involves:
- Collaborating with engineering, design, sales, customer success, support, and global stakeholders.
- Addressing technical issues, from authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OIDC, SCIM, OAuth) to corporate web proxy debugging and API-based integration support for enterprise customers.
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts.
- Strong relationship-building with stakeholders to foster collaboration.
- Extensive experience with HR and HCM systems and LMS ecosystems.
- Deep technical expertise in SaaS integration, SSO, and APIs.
- Mastery of microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and IaaS platforms like AWS.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols and web APIs.
Requirements
- 6-8+ years in enterprise Sales Engineering or Solution Consulting experience in a SaaS organization.
- Technical experience with Python (Django framework), Java, and modern JS frameworks (Angular, React).
- Experience working with microservices.
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) architecture (e.g., AWS).
- Experience with popular structured query languages (MySQL, Postgres, PL/SQL).
- Solid understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., SAML 2.0, SCIM, OAuth/OpenID Connect), Web APIs, SMTP, DNS, and experience debugging web applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Understanding of core security concepts (e.g., SSL/TLS, encryption ciphers, LGPD/GDPR data privacy).
- Hands-on experience architecting or deploying Single Sign-On (SSO) with various identity solutions.
