Role Description

We are seeking a highly creative and strategic Head of Brand Design to lead and expand our design function across all business lines. This role is crucial in evolving the visual and user experience identity of Carbon Direct as we scale. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in visual and brand design, an ability to drive user-centered solutions, and a strong leadership mindset.

  • Lead the development and execution of Carbon Direct’s visual identity across digital products, marketing materials, and brand assets.
  • Establish and maintain a cohesive brand design system across marketing and product that reflects Carbon Direct’s mission and vision, leveraging expertise and guidance from cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with other marketing team members to develop creative campaigns, presentations, and content that effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Oversee the design and optimization of Carbon Direct’s website to enhance user engagement and brand presence.
  • Mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to align design strategy with business goals.
  • Champion user research and data-driven design decisions to enhance user engagement on the company website and drive product adoption.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep Carbon Direct at the forefront of design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in design, with several years in a leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand, product, and marketing design.
  • Proven experience leading design teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep understanding of user experience (UX), interaction design, and digital product development.
  • Strong proficiency in design and website tools (Figma, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Experience working in climate, sustainability, or tech-driven industries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance creative vision with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Salary Range: $161,000-$197,000 a year
