Role Description
This position involves performing credit investigation and evaluating the credit strength of customers, making credit recommendations within established guidelines for transactions in designated platforms.
- Work independently under the Chief Credit Officer- CCF
- Handle credit transactions typically ranging from $1 million to $20 million
- Significant interaction with the Sales Team and various Customers Bank departments
- Utilize CCF’s front-end system of records, report environment, and credit evaluation tools
- Handle the largest and most complicated transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed research and credit analysis of business customers, vendors, dealers, and industry conditions
- Receive and analyze credit requests, including financial and pro-forma statements
- Perform detailed cash flow analysis and assess historical performance and economic factors
- Prepare in-depth written analyses and loan/lease approval summaries
- Participate in discussions regarding credit worthiness of pending loan and lease requests
- Present analytical results and written conclusions to management
- Prioritize and handle mid to large dollar transactions with complex structures
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with business units and the Credit Committee
- Communicate with business units regarding credit transactions and assist with structuring
- Process appeals and changes to original decisions
- Provide support to sales force, platform managers, and other team members
- Complete special projects specific to credit risk
- Some credit travel may be required for customer, prospect, and HQ visits
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a commercial credit analyst
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or finance
- MBA is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication, analytical, PC literacy, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to see the big picture while delving into details
- Strong knowledge of Excel and bank credit rating and modeling systems
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects under pressure
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management
- Workout knowledge and/or previous supervisory responsibilities are a plus
Requirements
- Unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an inquisitive mind
- A “team-player” attitude is critical
- Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn other Customers Bank applications
