Role Description
This role involves joining an expert team to bring the full might and rich mythology of legendary Marvel characters to help creators make exceptional games.
- Work closely with the Art Director and Product Development teams to guide and manage the visual development of multiple Marvel game titles.
- Provide visual guidance and brand feedback to external development teams.
- Assist in concept and design support to elevate visual quality standards across mobile, console, PC, and VR games.
- Communicate and collaborate directly with external game development teams on live-ops and in-development mobile titles.
- Provide art feedback on 2D concepts, 3D art, animation, VFX, and UI.
- Create paint-overs, mockups, draw-overs, and mood boards to illustrate changes and improvements.
- Partner with the Product Development team to solve creative and quality issues.
- Meet with game developers to ensure product vision and quality benchmarks are met.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the Marvel brand across multiple media.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in ‘AAA’ console, PC, or mobile games as Concept Artist or similar role.
- Broad and expert level knowledge of art and design principles related to character and environmental design.
- Exceptional draftsman and painter with the ability to sketch and iterate quickly.
- Strong understanding of game development and the latest art creation pipelines.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop; hands-on experience with a 3D package is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about current trends in gaming and an authentic love for all things Marvel.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a broad range of visual styles and have an excellent understanding of anatomy and heroic character proportions.
- Solid understanding of graphic design principles.
- Willingness to learn and embrace new ideas that optimize team operations.
- Sympathetic and champion collaborator adaptable to various studio work styles.
