Role Description
The Network Engineer will support Alkami’s cloud-first and on-premise network environments while developing foundational knowledge in networking and automation. This role is ideal for candidates eager to grow their technical expertise in network engineering by working alongside senior engineers, assisting with troubleshooting, network maintenance, and automation initiatives. The position requires a strong willingness to learn, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Assist in providing network support for cloud, corporate, and customer environments under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Help maintain, monitor, and upgrade network and security infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Perform network troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as packet captures and log analysis.
- Contribute to network automation efforts by learning and utilizing scripting tools such as Python and Terraform.
- Maintain and administer network monitoring systems, documenting alerts and assisting with issue resolution.
- Complete assigned tasks and tickets related to network configurations, maintenance, and incident response.
- Assist in creating and maintaining logical and physical network diagrams, Wiki pages, and knowledge base articles.
- Document networking processes and procedures for internal teams.
- Support system maintenance tasks such as backups, upgrades, and patching.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with network support needs during business and non-business hours as required.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in network support, troubleshooting, and configuration.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, BGP, IPSec).
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security principles.
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and a desire to learn network automation.
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical concepts.
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated experience designing a basic network infrastructure.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioners certificate.
- 2+ years supporting AWS or Microsoft technologies.
- 2+ years Linux experience.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $148,000
