Role Description
The Senior Proposal Writer requires an experienced professional with demonstrated success in organizing and developing original writing for all aspects of the proposal phase, including:
- Conducting in-depth market research
- Analyzing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Developing material for proposal sections, including Past Performance, Corporate Experience, Management, and Technical sections
- Close collaboration with the executive team to ensure a strategic and methodical approach to winning federal contracts
A successful candidate must exhibit the following key qualities and abilities:
- Able to conceptualize a vision for winning and develop a capture plan that implements the vision
- Manage all Capture activities and the Capture team to achieve the company’s strategic vision
- Possess strong Capture expertise and proven industry leadership
- Able to lead a diverse and dispersed team during intense proposal schedules
- Understand Government customers’ needs and objectives
- Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate the capture plan and status
- Exceptional time management skills
- Identify, research, and qualify potential teaming partners, subcontractors, and/or consultants
- Serve as an advocate of the company in the marketplace and with customers
Primary responsibilities of the Capture Manager include:
- Researching topics using internal and external tools
- Analyzing Government documents (RFPs, SOWs, PWSs, SOOs, and Attachments)
- Developing outlines and content to communicate company strategy and vision
- Participating in all color reviews and revising sections as needed
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree or higher required
- Will accept an additional seven (7) years of experience in a similar position in lieu of education
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in proposal development and capture management of DoD service contracts
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- High proficiency with MS Office tools required
- Current Driver’s License required
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must already have a minimum DoD Secret security clearance or be able to achieve (at minimum) a DoD Secret Security clearance prior to hire
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening
Requirements
- Fast-paced Corporate Environment working with all levels within the company
- Most work accomplished in an office environment utilizing phone and desktop computer and remote collaboration tools
- Normal work hours are Monday thru Friday; must be able to work extra hours/weekends when needed
- Travel is a requirement of the position, including air and car travel to customer locations
- Travel is normally short (2-5 days) but may be extended (2-3 weeks) in certain circumstances
