Role Description

Random House Children’s Books has an opportunity for an entry-level editorial assistant to support a team of 7 editors working on formats including board books, storybooks, leveled readers, chapter books, and activity books based on major licensed properties from Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Universal, and many other licensors. Must be comfortable working on projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling Meetings
• Maintaining Publishing Lists
• Writing title information sheets and web copy
• Creating and tracking P&Ls (Profit and Loss documents)
• Obtaining licensor approvals
• Ordering author and licensor book copies
• Brainstorming new book and series ideas with editors and licensors
• Assisting editorial team with manuscript and book development
• Creating presentation decks for Licensors and Sales Conferences
• Presenting individual titles and book series at Sales Conferences
• Handling sensitive embargoed materials

Qualifications

• BA in English
• Interest in and enthusiasm for licensed book publishing
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

Requirements

• This position is open to remote.
• Salary for this position is $55,000.
