[Hiring] Content Operations Manager @American Red Cross

Role Description

The American Red Cross is seeking a Content Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day publishing, optimization, and flow of content across national communications channels. This is a hands-on content management role that works across multiple publishing and digital asset management systems to ensure content is optimized for audiences, easy to discover, and efficiently shared across teams and platforms.

• Publishing and optimizing content on RedCross.org.
• Providing operational support to the national photo and video teams.
• Coordinating content during major disaster operations.
• Identifying opportunities to repurpose and distribute content across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or another related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in content management, digital publishing, editorial operations, or a related field.
• Experience publishing and managing content within a website content management system (CMS) and/or digital asset management (DAM) system.
• Hands-on production experience in photography, videography, and/or editorial writing is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in optimizing digital content for audiences and channels, including SEO, accessibility, and AI-driven search and discoverability.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to build, document, and manage clear workflows.
• Comfortable learning and working across multiple content management systems, digital platforms, and project management tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across editorial, photo, video, social media, and other communications teams.

• Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
• Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time.
• May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
