Role Description
This Senior Seller role is key to driving smatch’s expansion in the Scandinavian fashion market. Focused on selling high-quality inventory at competitive prices, the role will build buyer relationships, negotiate deals, and lead a team. This position is vital for establishing a strong demand base and growing smatch’s market presence. The Senior Seller will report directly to the founders of smatch.
- Source and secure diverse demand channels, including retail chains, off-price chains, wholesaler and B2C Marketplaces.
- Build and leverage personal networks to expand smatch’s selling options.
- Establish and manage business relationships, ensuring consistent quarterly deals.
- Act as senior contact for selling, managing demand negotiations and decisions.
- Oversee budgets to optimize selling prices and profitability.
- Apply expertise in (off-price) fashion, footwear, and textiles to guide sales strategy.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of merchandise and category management across various product types.
- Lead and mentor junior sellers as the team grows.
- Maintain strong, loyal relationships with retail representatives and partners.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in sales, specifically within the off-price apparel, footwear, and accessories industry.
- Strong network in Scandinavia with alternative distribution channels.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and close deals.
- Proficiency in category management and merchandise management.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Willingness to travel for meetings with retailers and other demand partners.
- Fluency in Swedish/Finnish/Norwegian and English is required; other languages are a plus.
- Open to occasional travels to key accounts and company events.
