What You Will Own:

• The global Financial Crime strategy across AML and sanctions.
• End-to-end ownership of AML controls, Sanctions screening, and typology analysis.
• Driving growth through more accurate financial crime controls.
• Key FinCrime KPIs and regulatory outcomes.
• Relationships with key stakeholders across the business and external partners.

You Will Achieve This By:

• Leading the Financial Crime domain across AML & screening.
• Defining and executing a unified Financial Crime strategy.
• Using data to gain insights and strengthen controls.
• Making tough prioritization calls.
• Operating within a cross-functional team structure.
• Identifying and evaluating third-party technology vendors.
• Being a player/coach, leading initiatives and diving into details.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ leadership experience in Financial Crime, Fraud, or AML within fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
• Deep understanding of fraud prevention, AML/CFT frameworks, sanctions, and regulatory expectations.
• Credibility with regulators, auditors, and senior executives.
• Demonstrated success in driving transformation and control maturity across FinCrime functions.
• Empathetic and inspiring leader who can coach and develop senior managers.

Bonus Points

• Experience integrating AI/ML models for transaction monitoring, fraud, risk scoring, or behavior analysis.
• Prior leadership experience in a remittance or crypto regulated business.
• Subject matter knowledge of payments, cards, stablecoins, ACH.
• Strong network across FinCrime industry groups, regulators, and law enforcement partnerships.
• Track record of managing remediation or enforcement-driven improvement programmes.

AI Literacy & Tools

• A genuine curiosity about AI and its applications in your area of work.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context.
• Strong AI literacy and understanding of AI assistants.
• Awareness of ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace.
• Prior experience using Claude (Anthropic) is a nice-to-have.
