Role Description

Immediate need for a talented HIM Supervisor. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in U.S (Remote).

• Develop and implement workflow systems for accurate and timely completion of medical records.
• Interface with physicians and staff to optimize documentation processes.
• Manage the department budget, seeking opportunities to decrease costs and improve service quality.
• Establish and monitor departmental goals, policies, and procedures in line with professional standards.
• Train and oversee department employees, tracking productivity and performance.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide training on concurrent review, abstracting, and coding of medical records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Records Management, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of prior experience in a Medical Records department.
• 2 years of supervisory experience in Medical Records management.
• In-depth understanding of state/federal regulations and compliance standards (CMRI, NCQA, The Joint Commission).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with various software used in medical records management.
• Must have at least one of the following certifications:
• CCS – Certified Coding Specialist
• RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator
• RHIT – Registered Health Information Technician
