  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when evaluating clinical accuracy and workflow logic.
  • Ability to communicate complex clinical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Requirements

  • Research clinical practice guidelines, drug information, evidence-based recommendations, pharmacy protocols, and relevant clinical standards.
  • Translate clinical requirements into structured workflows, functional specifications, decision criteria, clinical rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Verify clinical interpretations against authoritative sources and maintain appropriate citations and supporting documentation.
  • Consult pharmacist subject-matter experts, as needed, to obtain additional clinical insight, validate interpretations, and clarify specialized pharmacy practice requirements.
  • Identify ambiguous clinical requirements, conflicting guidance, and potential patient safety concerns, escalating issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain traceable documentation of clinical decisions, source references, and changes to clinical requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Policy & Implementation Coordinator to understand applicable regulatory and policy requirements and incorporate approved requirements into clinical workflows and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to clarify clinical requirements, prioritize clinical needs, and incorporate them into product planning and development tickets.

  • Work with the Head of Engineering to clarify clinical logic, resolve implementation questions, and ensure developed functionality aligns with approved clinical specifications.
  • Communicate clinical requirements, decisions, and testing findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify unresolved clinical questions and dependencies that could affect product functionality or quality and coordinate their resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Conduct manual testing to verify product functionality against approved clinical requirements, regulatory specifications, and documented acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios covering clinical workflows, clinical decision logic, pharmacy practice requirements, and applicable jurisdiction-specific functionality.
  • Verify that forms, calculations, decision criteria, workflow logic, and other clinical functionality behave as documented.
  • Test positive, negative, boundary, and exception scenarios to identify inaccurate clinical outputs, workflow defects, and inconsistencies with approved regulatory requirements.
  • Document test cases, results, discrepancies, supporting evidence, and defects so engineering can reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Head of Engineering to prioritize defects, verify corrections, and perform regression testing of affected functionality.
  • Coordinate with the Policy & Implementation Coordinator when testing requires clarification of regulatory or policy specifications.
  • Escalate potential patient safety concerns and unresolved clinical or regulatory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain practical processes for clinical source verification, requirements review, manual testing, and version control.
  • Review customer feedback, reported issues, and product changes for potential clinical implications.
  • Recommend improvements to clinical workflows and product functionality based on pharmacy practice, user needs, testing results, and evolving clinical guidance.
