Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Freelance SEO & GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Expert to manage and grow the organic visibility of our clients, primarily SMEs and small businesses. The role covers both traditional search engine optimization and brand visibility across the new generation of AI-powered search and answer engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and other emerging platforms.

Responsibilities

• SEO, GEO & AEO:
  • Define and implement SEO, GEO and AEO strategies tailored to each client's objectives.
  • Optimize brand presence and citations within AI-generated answers and AI-powered search experiences.
  • Apply E-E-A-T best practices and structure content to strengthen relevance, credibility and visibility.
  • Effectively integrate AI into content creation and optimization workflows.
• On-Site & Technical SEO:
  • Conduct technical and content SEO audits.
  • Optimize internal linking and website architecture.
  • Improve HTML structure, including Hn tags, titles, meta descriptions, structured data, etc.
  • Analyze source code and identify technical issues affecting organic performance.
  • Optimize media, formats and overall website performance.
  • Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals.
• Off-Site SEO & Authority:
  • Define and execute targeted link-building strategies.
  • Identify and acquire relevant, high-quality backlinks.
  • Manage anchor text profiles and monitor domain authority.
  • Identify new opportunities for external brand visibility and citations.
• Local SEO:
  • Optimize Google Business Profiles.
  • Develop strategies for acquiring and managing customer reviews.
  • Optimize local citations and presence across relevant directories.
  • Improve business visibility for local and geo-targeted searches.
• Performance & ROI:
  • Analyze organic traffic and user behavior.
  • Monitor rankings and overall SEO/GEO visibility.
  • Define and track key performance indicators.
  • Build performance dashboards focused on traffic, conversions and ROI.
  • Provide clear, actionable and prioritized recommendations for each client.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally including experience within an agency environment.
• Strong understanding of the challenges, budgets and constraints faced by small and medium-sized businesses.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Majestic, Oncrawl, SEOlyzer, YourText.Guru, Looker Studio, GA4 and Google Search Console.
• Good knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience with leading CMS platforms, particularly WordPress and Shopify.
• Good understanding of emerging search behaviors driven by LLMs and AI-powered search engines, with the ability to test and measure new visibility strategies.
• Excellent multi-project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Fluent French and English, both written and spoken.
