Role Description

This role will play an important part in shaping the next chapter of our combined organization and advancing our shared mission to transform veterinary care.

We're looking for a Veterinary Technician Recruiter to help us grow it the right way. In this role, you'll be the recruiting partner for veterinary technicians and other veterinary roles in your markets. That means:

• Building lasting relationships with veterinary technicians and the broader vet community.
• Getting to know what motivates each candidate and connecting that to our mission and culture.
• Guiding candidates through a thoughtful, high-touch experience from the first conversation to their first day and beyond.

You'll also help plan for new practice openings, which includes:

• Setting talent benchmarks.
• Building targeted outreach plans.
• Tracking how candidates move through each stage.

Your work will directly shape how we grow: thoughtfully, without losing quality, culture, or candidate enthusiasm.

What You'll Do

• Build relationships that last.
• Be the main recruiting partner for veterinary technicians in your assigned markets.
• Engage both active and passive candidates, and keep in touch with them even before a role is open.
• Show up in person by traveling to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates.
• Understand team culture and staffing needs to find referral opportunities.
• Own the full hiring process, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer strategy, and closing.
• Source creatively through direct outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media.
• Deliver a white-glove candidate experience by coordinating on-site interviews.
• Maintain a steady bench of candidates at every experience level.
• Engage the veterinary community by building relationships with veterinary schools and local communities.
• Partner closely with field leaders to forecast needs and understand role requirements.
• Bring clarity with data by keeping accurate candidate records and capturing feedback.
• Build repeatable playbooks to create consistent hiring practices.
• Collaborate with other recruiters to meet every hiring need.

What Success Looks Like

• Every market you support has a strong, engaged bench of candidates.
• 3–5 engaged, qualified candidates for every open or forecasted role.
• Pipelines built 3–6 months before new practice openings.
• Steady rhythm of in-person candidate meetings and networking.
• A meaningful share of hires come from proactive outreach.
• Time-to-fill becomes more predictable (average of 60–90 days).
• Stakeholders have clear visibility into candidate status and pipeline health.
• Candidate records kept fully up to date in the ATS.
• Clinic leaders feel supported and involved in building their local teams.
• Positive candidate survey scores, with timely communication.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (3+ years preferred).
• Track record of full cycle recruiting (veterinary recruiting preferred).
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent.
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.).
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human).
• Executive presence, sound judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Relationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and excited to travel.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to travel up to 10-20%.

Location Details

We're considering candidates with permanent residency in and can perform work from CT, FL, GA, IL, OH, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, TX, VA, or Washington, D.C. Candidates in the Northeast (NYC, Boston, or D.C. metro) are preferred. Employees need to be available during Eastern hours unless otherwise agreed.
