Role Description

The Senior Talent Consultant at matteria leads executive searches end to end, partnering with leaders who are changing the world. This person brings both the technical execution of headhunting and a strategic, consultative lens, listening closely to translate a client's ambitions into winning candidate profiles.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Client Advisory:
  • Lead executive discovery sessions to understand organizational challenges and leadership needs.
  • Translate loosely defined client expectations into structured search strategies and compelling leadership profiles.
  • Serve as the senior strategic point of contact throughout every engagement.
  • Facilitate executive-level conversations and decision-making in English.
• Executive Search Leadership:
  • Own the full executive search lifecycle, including intake meetings, role definition, compensation calibration, sourcing strategy, executive outreach, candidate assessment, client presentations, offer management, and successful placement.
  • Design tailored search strategies for leadership positions across multiple industries and geographies.
  • Conduct sophisticated market mapping and direct headhunting of passive executive talent.
• Leadership Assessment & Consulting:
  • Conduct structured executive interviews and leadership assessments.
  • Evaluate candidates based on competencies, leadership capabilities, cultural alignment, and mission fit.
  • Advise clients on market dynamics, candidate trade-offs, and hiring decisions.
• Candidate Experience:
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through transparent communication, timely feedback, and respectful engagement.
  • Lead executive negotiations and support successful onboarding and post-placement follow-up.
• Market Intelligence & Operational Excellence:
  • Produce executive search reports, market intelligence, compensation insights, and pipeline analytics.
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to strengthen research, sourcing, documentation, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, methodology improvements, and mentoring of junior consultants.

Qualifications

• No specific degree required; proven capability prioritized.
• Track record delivering end-to-end executive searches.
• Advanced studies or certifications (e.g., executive coaching, org psychology, OD, analytics) are welcome but optional.

Requirements

• 7–12+ years in executive search, senior recruiting, or leadership hiring—agency or in-house.
• Proven track record of direct headhunting and closing passive candidates.
• Comfortable running multiple searches concurrently in a freelance/independent setup.
• Professional, fluent, bilingual English; additional languages such as Spanish or Portuguese are an asset.
• Expertise in leadership assessment, behavioral interviewing, and talent mapping.
• Outstanding project management and organizational abilities.
• Fluency with technology and AI tools.
• Proficiency in digital recruitment platforms, ATS, and professional networking tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
