Role Description

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a strategic, systems-oriented Director, HRIS to lead the vision, optimization, and operational excellence of the organization’s HR technology ecosystem. This role oversees a team of eleven professionals responsible for HRIS platforms, including Workday, and UKG time and attendance system.

The Director will play a critical role in advancing BMC’s HR technology strategy by:

• Optimizing Workday functionality
• Establishing standardized and scalable HRIS processes
• Ensuring seamless integration across systems
• Driving team effectiveness
• Leading through transformation
• Partnering closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to deliver high-impact, user-centered solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive HRIS or HR technology experience, including leadership of teams and complex systems
• Deep expertise in Workday (optimization and governance)
• Experience with UKG (or similar workforce management systems)
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale system optimization and transformation initiatives
• Strong project management and process design experience
• Proven ability to lead through change in complex, matrixed environments

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare or academic medical center environments (preferred)
• Familiarity with HR analytics tools and data visualization platforms (preferred)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Workday certifications, PMP, Agile) (preferred)

Compensation Range

$122,000.00 - $177,000.00. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation.
