Role Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Administrative Coordinator to support medical professionals in various tasks.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Register new patients and efficiently schedule appointments
- Coordinate prescription refills with pharmacies and healthcare providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process prior authorization requests
- Manage faxes, retrieve medical notes, and prepare patient charts
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- Experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or Medical Intake Specialist
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization, and appointment scheduling
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and AthenaOne EMR
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to handle high call volumes
Requirements
- HIPAA certification (preferred)
- Background in pharmacy or medical-related fields is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
