Role Description
Covered Health is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payment Poster to join our Revenue Cycle Management team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in payment posting, with expertise in eClinicalWorks (eCW). This role requires meticulous attention to detail and an understanding of medical billing and reimbursement processes to ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of payments.
- Accurately post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials into eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Reconcile posted payments to ensure they match deposit records and statements.
- Review and resolve any posting discrepancies, identifying and correcting errors as needed.
- Record denials and adjustments with accuracy and detail for further review by the billing team.
- Work closely with the billing and coding teams to ensure proper handling of denied claims and identify potential issues in payment patterns.
- Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure that payments and adjustments align with billing records.
- Assist in balancing month-end and year-end accounts, supporting the Finance and Revenue Cycle Management teams with necessary data.
- Post patient payments received from various sources, including online portals, mail, and in-office payments.
- Ensure accurate allocation of payments to patient accounts and manage payment corrections or re-posts as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members in billing, coding, and collections to address account discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from patients or insurance companies regarding payment postings and account balances as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical payment posting.
- Extensive experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of medical billing, reimbursement, and payment processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and addressing any account inquiries.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a remote payment posting role.
- Knowledge of medical billing codes and insurance guidelines.
