Role Description

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced Hospitality Professionals and Restaurant Operations Specialists with strong expertise in Toast POS, restaurant workflows, order management, payment processing, and point-of-sale technology to contribute their practical industry knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will:

• Analyse restaurant point-of-sale workflows.
• Evaluate operational scenarios.
• Develop practical documentation.
• Provide expert feedback on Toast POS functionality.

The work combines firsthand hospitality experience with restaurant technology, transaction processing, operational troubleshooting, and structured technical evaluation to improve how advanced AI systems understand and respond to real-world restaurant operations.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in hospitality, restaurant operations, or a closely related food service environment.
• Practical hands-on experience using Toast POS in restaurant operations.
• Strong understanding of restaurant point-of-sale systems and their operational applications.
• Experience with restaurant order entry, order modifications, and transaction processing.
• Familiarity with payment management procedures and common POS transaction workflows.
• Understanding of how point-of-sale technology supports front-of-house restaurant operations.
• Experience identifying and resolving common Toast POS workflow or functionality issues.
• Practical knowledge of restaurant menus, order flows, and service processes.
• Ability to explain POS functions and restaurant procedures clearly and accurately.
• Experience documenting workflows, developing procedural instructions, or preparing operational guides.
• Familiarity with different restaurant concepts, including quick-service, casual dining, and fine dining establishments.
• Strong analytical reasoning and practical operational problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to explain restaurant technology to non-technical audiences.
• Strong verbal communication and collaborative working skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail when reviewing transaction information and operational workflows.
• Experience training, mentoring, or supporting colleagues in the use of restaurant technology is advantageous.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS reporting features and operational performance information is beneficial.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently on remote project assignments.
• Interest in the application of AI technologies to hospitality and restaurant operations is beneficial.

• Current employment in a hospitality role involving daily Toast POS usage is strongly preferred.

• Responsibilities will include evaluating restaurant POS workflows, reviewing operational scenarios, and developing practical documentation.
• Assignments may involve analysing order and payment processes, reviewing transaction examples, and assessing AI-generated restaurant technology guidance.
• Deliverables may include workflow evaluations, structured annotations, operational guides, troubleshooting recommendations, and written technical feedback.
• Experience across quick-service, casual dining, or fine dining environments is particularly relevant.
• Professionals may collaborate remotely with technical and operational project contributors to refine AI evaluation tasks.
• Strong practical hospitality expertise, clear communication, and familiarity with Toast POS are important for successful project execution.
