Role Description

eScribers is looking for experienced digital court reporters for a contractor position. Successful completion of a training program or relevant reporting experience is required.

• Nationwide court reporting and transcription company.
• Need for reporters to appear in person for local and travel jobs in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas.
• Remote work is also available.
• Flexible scheduling and opportunity to take transcription work based on relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of training program OR previous reporting experience.
• Must have reporting equipment before being onboarded.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience or knowledge of legal proceedings.
• High degree of professionalism.
• Commit to meeting all deadlines.
• Ability to upload and download files and use other basic computer functions.
• High-speed internet connection.
• Reliable mode of transportation.
• Current U.S. bank account to receive contract payments.
• Candidates must have their own reporting equipment.

Requirements

• Independent contractor status with compensation on a per project/assignment basis.
• Daily appearance fee.
• Travel expenses reimbursed, if necessary.
• Commission on copy sales and exhibit handling.
• Weekly pay via direct deposit.
• Onboarding process includes completion of required paperwork, computer setup, and familiarization with programs and workflow system.
• Priority for work is given to court reporters who maintain excellent quality standards in the submission of their assignments.
