Role Description
The Translator is a key position at Welocalize, a localization company specializing in software localization and technical translation. About 40% of Welocalize staff hold this position, and their performance is crucial to the company's health. This role also nurtures talent for other positions within the company, including management and business roles.
Main Duties

Translate content from one language to another while maintaining the original meaning and ensuring readability for the target audience.

Meet internal and external translation requirements, ensuring customer specifications are followed regarding style, terminology, correctness, accuracy, fluency, readability, and timeliness.

Perform supportive tasks necessary for the translation process, such as maintaining glossaries, coordinating with other translators, preparing evaluation reports, and providing training.

Aim for excellence in technical translation through continual improvements in capability and productivity.

Qualifications

University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fluent in host language and respective translated language, both written and spoken.

Native-level proficiency in Gaelic (Ireland) and English.

Good user experience with standard software, including Windows and Office applications; experience with CAT tools.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.

Fast learner, motivated, and versatile.
