Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in writing proposals, particularly for federal government contracts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and online help documentation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy in technical documents.
- Write, review, and edit proposals for federal government contracts, ensuring compliance with all requirements and guidelines.
- Analyze RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and develop proposal strategies that meet client needs and organizational goals.
- Create compelling narratives that highlight the organization's strengths and capabilities.
- Maintain a library of standard proposal content and technical documentation for reuse in future projects.
- Ensure all content is clear, concise, and tailored to the target audience.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for proposal efforts.
- Conduct research to support proposal development and stay current on industry trends and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on proposal writing for federal government contracts.
- Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and well-organized proposals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in using technical writing tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, proposal management software).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Requirements
- Experience with specific federal agencies or departments is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of contract law and federal acquisition regulations.
