Role Description

To support the client with clear, authoritative, and business-friendly content focused on high-risk payments, merchant services, and underwriting, translating complex payment concepts into accessible, persuasive content for merchants and partners.

• Write educational and persuasive content related to:
  • Payment processing and POS systems
  • Merchant accounts, including high-risk merchant accounts
  • Chargebacks, underwriting, fees, and compliance (high-level)
• Develop content explaining:
  • Account terminations, holds, and reserves
  • Rolling reserves, tiered pricing, and fee structures
  • What makes a business “high risk”
  • Why mainstream processors decline certain industries
• Clearly differentiate:
  • Stripe vs. high-risk processors
  • Traditional vs. specialized underwriting
  • Aggregators vs. dedicated merchant accounts
• Translate complex payment topics into clear, human language
• Incorporate feedback while also proactively proposing content ideas and angles

Qualifications

• Prior experience writing for or working within high-risk payments, fintech, merchant services, or underwriting
• Strong storytelling skills (not just definitions or technical documentation)
• Ability to adapt tone across educational and persuasive content
• Business-friendly, conversational writing style

• Experience with high-risk processors, merchant account fees, ISOs, payment gateways, or underwriting teams
