[Hiring] English to Finnish - Legal Translator and Editor @Global Language Strategies

Role Description

This is a remote position.

Global Language Strategies seeks a freelance/contract linguist (legal translator and/or editor) to perform legal services for a United States Government client. This is a freelance, as-needed position.

• Must possess at least three years of experience translating and/or editing legal content.
• Knowledge of correct legal and technical terms in Finnish to English is required.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens willing to undergo security clearance processing.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience providing professional legal language services to governmental clients.
• Extensive legal language service experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or comparable field required.
• Must be able to use CAT tools (if translator or editor); experience using Trados preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and understanding of language services.
• Advanced proficiency in reading/writing/listening and speaking in English and the target foreign language(s).
• Available during 9-5 EST most days to take on-demand assignments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
