[Hiring] Senior Architect @Coefficient Giving

Role Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Architect or Architect who can hold design authority over a heavily customized Salesforce org and the integrations around it. This is a hands-on, builder role that requires experience in Apex and Lightning Web Components and familiarity with the DevOps practices that get changes safely to production.

You would join a growing Salesforce team — spanning Eastern, Central, and Brasília time — that meets daily and works closely together. You would partner closely with our existing senior technical lead on the technical direction of the system. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, though you would be expected to provide technical oversight and mentorship across the team. There's room in this role to specialize — we’re actively re-architecting how money moves through the system end-to-end, and ensuring our Partnerships work is reflected in Salesforce would be a natural focus for this role.

What the role involves

• Salesforce architecture:
  • Design and build complex Salesforce solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components.
  • Write SOQL against a custom object model representing the full path money takes through the system.
  • Make informed decisions on solution trade-offs, considering scalability, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and solution design.
  • Predict potential issues as we scale and adopt new technology.
  • Take a lead role in system security and data compliance.
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement, and manage Salesforce features and third-party tools.
• Technical leadership and team enablement:
  • Partner with our existing senior technical lead on the technical direction of the system.
  • Mentor team members on technical skills and review technical work.
  • Help oversee the team's user support function and resolve escalated cases.
  • Evaluate and assess Salesforce platform changes.
• DevOps and delivery:
  • Implement and advocate for DevOps best practices.
  • Serve as the team’s release manager or mentor members of the admin team.
  • Contribute to and help shape the team's approach to AI-enabled development workflows.

Who might be a good fit

• Extensive experience in Salesforce administration and development.
• Deep, current, code-first development experience (~5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development).
• Expert-level platform knowledge of Salesforce's capabilities and limitations.
• Design authority in a complex org with significant business process complexity.
• Cross-system judgment and flexibility in architecture decisions.
• DevOps fluency in Salesforce context.
• Comfort as a technical thought partner.
• High ownership in a fast-building environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with, or strong openness to, AI-enabled workflows.
• Salesforce certified (Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform Developer I).

Requirements

• Additional certifications (desirable but not required): Platform Developer II, or any architect-level certification.
• Breadth of exposure to different teams and organizations.
• Integration experience with third-party systems.
