Role Description

This is a remote position.

This role is ideal for engineers with 3–6 years of experience and a strong background in building scalable, production-grade software systems. We are looking for hands-on Software Engineers with strong expertise in TypeScript and AI/LLM systems, with experience building production-grade applications and modern AI-powered workflows. Experience with Python is a plus.

What You’ll Do as a Software Craftsperson:

  • Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle for complex, cross-functional initiatives β€” from design through production readiness.
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable backend systems and APIs using TypeScript, following clean code and software craftsmanship principles.
  • Design and deliver features end-to-end, balancing scope, quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • Build AI-powered applications and workflows using LLMs, agents, and modern AI frameworks.
  • Work with technologies such as OpenAI, Claude, agentic frameworks, and AI skills/tooling to build reliable and useful AI experiences.
  • Identify technical and product issues beyond the immediate scope of work, proactively raising risks and driving solutions.
  • Shape team practices around code quality, testing, tooling, and continuous improvement using DevEx and DORA principles.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, clarify priorities, and align on outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide fellow engineers to raise overall team performance and promote a culture of learning.
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate design, development, testing, and delivery where applicable.
  • Build and integrate browser-based experiences, including Chrome Extensions, where required.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of overall software engineering experience with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex production systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience building production-grade applications using TypeScript.
  • Practical experience working with AI/LLM-based applications and agentic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/LLM applications, including OpenAI, Claude, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
  • Experience with Mastra or similar agentic/LLM orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience building or integrating Chrome Extensions and browser-based applications.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI, including AI evaluation, reliability, safety, privacy, and handling AI-generated outputs.
  • Experience working with SKILLs/tooling to extend AI agent capabilities.
  • Strong system design skills with the ability to build scalable, maintainable, reliable, and observable systems.
  • Strong engineering practices including TDD, CI/CD, code reviews, refactoring, and Agile/XP practices.
  • Good understanding of REST/gRPC APIs, relational databases, performance optimisation, source control, and technical documentation.
  • Python experience is good to have, particularly in building production-grade applications and AI/LLM systems.
  • Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Agno, vector databases, AI evaluation/observability tools, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform is a plus.
  • Experience with React.js or other modern frontend frameworks is a plus.
