Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in legacy systems, batch processing, and transaction-based systems, along with a solid understanding of mainframe technologies and business-critical environments.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications
• Work with COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies to support business processes
• Develop and maintain batch processing jobs and online transaction systems
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe applications
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and data integrity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and support teams
• Support production systems, including incident resolution and performance tuning
• Maintain proper documentation for applications, processes, and system changes
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, and mainframe development
• Hands-on experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System)
• Experience with DB2 or IMS databases
• Knowledge of VSAM and file handling
• Familiarity with TSO/ISPF and mainframe utilities
• Experience in batch processing and scheduling tools like Control-M or CA7
• Understanding of system debugging and performance tuning
• Familiarity with version control and change management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Requirements

• Experience in mainframe modernization or migration projects
• Knowledge of REST APIs integration with mainframe systems
• Familiarity with DevOps practices in mainframe environments
• Exposure to cloud integration (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of REXX scripting

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
