[Hiring] Developer/Programmer Analyst @Nexiva

Role Description

The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking three Developer/Programmer Analysts, Level 3 to support the transition of reporting and data-extract capabilities from legacy Mainframe IMS systems to a future cloud/data-lake environment. The role focuses on:

• Reverse engineering mainframe-based data extracts and reports
• Integrating data into Snowflake
• Supporting downstream analytics and reporting through Power BI
• Bridging legacy systems with modern cloud/data platforms
• Ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and availability for business intelligence needs

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience, including SQL, data loading, transformations, and performance tuning
• 8+ years of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipelines, and data integration patterns

Requirements

• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, data-extract needs, and downstream data consumption.
• Reverse engineer existing data extracts and document data flows and requirements.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines into Snowflake.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects on:
• Data modeling
• Schema design
• Transformation logic
• Validate and reconcile source-to-target data across Mainframe, Lonestar, Open Systems, and Snowflake.
• Develop data conversion and system implementation plans.
• Design database schemas to persist required data.
• Support Power BI datasets, semantic models, and dashboards, using Snowflake as the primary data source.
• Troubleshoot issues across the complete data pipeline, from source extraction through Snowflake and Power BI.
• Document technical processes, data flows, and system dependencies.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and production support.
• Prepare and obtain approval for system/programming documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to report development.
