Role Description
This role involves working with Coinbase's blockchain nodes, connecting the company to various blockchains while maintaining traditional web2 systems. Responsibilities include:
- Upgrading blockchain nodes
- Implementing automation to reduce TOIL and increase service effectiveness
- Identifying new areas of investment (automation) to further streamline services and reduce manual effort
You will be part of the following initiatives:
- Blockchain Traffic Management, including stateful failover between multiple external providers
- Managing data consistency and block freshness to power critical internal services, such as wallets and indexers
- Ensuring reliability and scalability across the blockchain platform stack
- Pioneering new technologies such as decoupling blockchain node storage and compute
- Building a platform on top of existing nodes to reduce engineering effort and ops TOIL
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
- Ability to compose a service-oriented architecture
- Passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together

Pay Transparency Notice
Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
Pay Range: $186,065 — $218,900 USD
