Role Description
NetOps Africa is looking for an experienced, high-energy Business Development Representative who knows how to generate opportunities, build relationships, and move prospects through the entire sales process. This is not a junior appointment-setting position.
The right person will initially be hands-on and responsible for generating and developing their own opportunities. As NetOps Africa continues to grow, we want this individual to have the experience and leadership ability to help us build, mentor, and eventually lead a larger outbound sales team.
What Youβll Be Doing
-
Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
-
Identify and engage business owners, executives, and decision-makers
-
Create opportunities from cold prospects rather than relying solely on inbound leads
-
Research target companies and identify the right contacts and business challenges
-
Run strong discovery conversations and understand a prospect's staffing, operational, and technical requirements
-
Clearly communicate the NetOps Africa value proposition
-
Qualify opportunities based on fit, need, timing, and commercial potential
-
Manage prospects throughout the sales cycle from initial outreach through signed agreement
-
Conduct follow-up consistently and professionally
-
Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, contact, and opportunity information within the CRM
-
Use CRM data to manage follow-ups, reporting, sales activity, and pipeline visibility
-
Work directly with company leadership on sales strategy, messaging, targeting, and market feedback
-
Help refine outbound processes, scripts, sequences, KPIs, and sales playbooks
-
Assist with coaching and mentoring future BDRs as the sales team grows
-
Potentially develop into a broader sales leadership role based on performance and company growth
Qualifications
-
Proven B2B outbound sales experience
-
Previous experience as a senior salesperson, team lead, sales manager, or similar leadership position
-
A strong track record of cold calling and generating opportunities
-
Comfortable working in a high-activity outbound environment
-
Experience managing an opportunity from prospecting through to close
-
Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building skills
-
Highly personable and confident speaking with senior decision-makers
-
Strong discovery and questioning skills
-
Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision
-
Persistent, competitive, and comfortable hearing "no"
-
Highly organized and disciplined with CRM usage, pipeline management, and follow-up
-
Hands-on experience working within a modern sales CRM
-
Able to balance high call volume with genuine, consultative conversations
-
Interested in helping build a sales organization, not simply filling an individual contributor role
Requirements
-
Experience with Zoho CRM is strongly preferred
-
Candidates with significant experience using HubSpot CRM will also be considered, particularly if they have used it for:
-
Lead and contact management
-
Pipeline and deal management
-
Sales activity tracking
-
Automated follow-up and sequences
-
Reporting and forecasting
-
Task management
-
CRM data hygiene
-
Managing an outbound sales process
-
Experience configuring or improving CRM workflows, dashboards, automations, sales stages, or reporting would be a major advantage.
Benefits
-
Previous MSP sales experience
-
Experience selling managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud services, professional services, staffing, outsourcing, or similar solutions
-
Existing understanding of the MSP industry and how MSP owners operate
-
Experience selling into the United States or Canadian market
-
Experience selling to SMB and mid-market organizations
-
Previous responsibility for coaching, managing, or developing BDR/SDR teams
-
Experience building outbound sales processes or playbooks
-
Experience with Zoho CRM, Zoho One, or the broader Zoho ecosystem
-
Strong HubSpot CRM experience
-
Experience improving CRM processes, workflows, reporting, or sales automation
Company Description
NetOps Africa connects North American businesses with experienced South African professionals, helping organizations expand their teams with high-quality talent while simplifying recruitment, employment, HR, and ongoing workforce management.
We're growing quickly and are looking for someone who wants to play a meaningful role in building the next stage of our sales organization.
Interview Preparation
-
Before interviewing with NetOps Africa, spend time on our website and come prepared to demonstrate how you would actually sell our services.
-
During the interview, be prepared to:
-
Explain in your own words what NetOps Africa does, who you believe our ideal client is, and why that client would use us
-
Give us your version of a concise NetOps Africa sales pitch without reading from a prepared script
-
Role-play an initial conversation with an MSP owner or senior decision-maker who agreed to a meeting after receiving a cold call
-
Show us how you would determine whether that prospect has a real staffing need, a future need, or simply agreed to take the meeting
-
Walk us through the discovery questions you would use to understand their team, current capacity, hiring challenges, role requirements, timing, and decision-making process
-
Demonstrate how you would respond if the prospect says, "We're not hiring right now, but we probably will be in six months"
-
Demonstrate how you would handle a prospect who was hiring when first contacted but has since filled the position
-
Show us how you would transition from discovery into positioning NetOps Africa without turning the conversation into a generic sales pitch
-
Explain what you would consider a qualified sales opportunity and when you would choose to nurture or disqualify a lead instead
-
Close the role-play with a clear and appropriate next step
Remote Work Requirements
-
This is a fully remote position, and candidates must have a professional home working environment suitable for full-time client-facing sales work.
-
You must have:
-
Reliable high-speed fiber internet, ideally 100 Mbps or better
-
Reliable backup power capable of supporting your workstation and internet connection during load shedding or outages
-
A suitable modern computer for professional business use
-
A quality noise-cancelling headset
-
A working webcam
-
A quiet, professional workspace with minimal background noise or interruptions
-
The ability to participate comfortably in video meetings and sales calls throughout the workday
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills when working through platforms such as Microsoft Teams, email, and CRM systems
-
The discipline and self-management required to perform consistently in a remote environment
-
Because this is a sales role, call quality, communication, professionalism, availability, and reliability are essential.
