Role Description
The Regional Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in selling company products and services to the Segment customers in territory. Responsibilities include three primary objectives:

Penetrating sales for existing and potential customers
Our Regional Sales Engineer:

Develops technical product, application, and supplier strategies with the TBU leadership.

Works closely with the Regional Sales teams to define specific target customers and further develop regional and local customer plans.

Collaborates with Outside Sales teams and strategic suppliers, jointly visiting customers to execute the design-in of focus products into end customer applications.

Drives the sale of company products and services by working with branches to develop sales strategies, generating leads, and calling on segment customers in territory.

Monitors activities to defined plans using the Customer Account Manager tool (CAM) and Opportunity Management System (OMS) reports.

Meets regularly with local Branch Product Managers and General Managers/Outside Sales Managers to review progress of the branch to OMS targets.

Acts as the primary account manager for key OEM locations in assigned geography.

Creates new opportunities for key segment lines by actively calling on these customers.

Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the TTI sales organization related to the transportation business segment.

Facilitates training programs in territory branch sales offices to educate personnel on specific details concerning targeted customers and/or products for the Segment market.

Understands supplier design registration programs and design protection cost discounts structures.

Maintains effective business rapport with branch sales managers and management staff.

Focuses on technical new business demand creation and regularly liaises with local suppliers.

Pursues new business leads using all available resources including reps, trade shows, networking, and TTI Internal resources.

Facilitates quarterly business reviews (QBR) with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management.

Communicates with branch locations to inform sales staff of design wins at key OEM customers.

Answers and resolves all key segment customer technical questions, problems, and complaints.

Maintains market awareness on competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts.

Participates in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting the importance of quality.
Qualifications

Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field (e.g. business, engineering, etc.)

Minimum of five years experience in electronics
-
Previous knowledge or work experience in the Automotive & Transportation industry is preferred
Requirements

Previous knowledge of sensor experience preferred

Extensive product and technical knowledge within the distribution industry

Customer and application knowledge within the given region or country of responsibility

Experienced in the NBO Identification and Development process at a customer level

Strong organizational skills to set priorities, methodical approach, and project management skills

Team player working proactively with other TSEs and the Outside Sales team

Good sales and negotiation skills

Self-motivated and driven, able to work from home office

Strong verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills

Strong verbal and written English language skills

Extensive knowledge and high skill level of all relevant IT systems and MS Office applications

Must possess a valid Driverβs License, safe driving record, and be insurable by the Companiesβ liability carrier

Requires travel (~50%), amount varies depending on territory
