[Hiring] Outside Sales Representative / Energy Consultant @OnSite Energy Inc.

Role Description

OnSite Energy is seeking an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated Outside Sales Representative / Energy Consultant to develop new residential and commercial solar and energy storage business in Montana. This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor relationship, compensated exclusively through commissions on successful sales.

• Identify prospective residential and commercial customers.
• Develop relationships and assess their energy needs.
• Guide customers through the process of evaluating and purchasing solar and energy storage solutions.
• Access OnSite Energy's established brand, technical expertise, project development resources, and installation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in outside sales, business development, or consultative selling.
• Experience in solar, energy storage, electrical contracting, construction, or related industries is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to independently generate leads, develop customer relationships, and close sales.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivation, and a high degree of personal accountability.
• Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and helping customers make informed energy decisions.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical and financial information effectively.
• Comfortable using CRM software and other digital sales tools.
• Ability to travel to customer locations within an agreed service territory.
• Experience selling to commercial customers, business owners, or organizational decision-makers is a plus.

Requirements

• This is an independent contractor opportunity, not a traditional employee position.
• The Energy Consultant will operate as an independent business professional under a written independent contractor agreement.
• The consultant will have discretion over their work schedule, prospecting activities, and methods of developing new business.
• The consultant will be primarily responsible for generating and developing their own sales opportunities.
• OnSite Energy will provide access to relevant product information, technical resources, proposal development support, and established sales processes.
• The consultant will generally be responsible for their own business expenses, transportation, equipment, and applicable taxes.
• This position does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, paid leave, or retirement plan contributions.

Compensation

• 100% commission-based compensation, with no base salary or guaranteed earnings.
• Commissions are earned on qualifying residential and commercial solar and energy storage contracts.
• Compensation is directly tied to successful sales performance, offering significant earning potential.
• Commission rates, eligibility, payment timing, and applicable adjustments will be established in the written independent contractor agreement.
