Role Description

Are you an energetic, confident and resilient Business Development Representative who enjoys picking up the phone and starting conversations? Do you have experience in outbound sales, appointment setting or lead generation, and would you like the opportunity to work with a growing US-based solar and energy services company?

The Opportunity:

• Researching target accounts, identifying key decision-makers, making outbound calls, qualifying opportunities and booking high-quality discovery meetings for the sales team.
• Engaging with organisations across the United States about solutions including:
  • Solar energy
  • Solar operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • EV and fleet charging infrastructure
  • Bus charging solutions
  • Battery energy storage
  • Energy resiliency solutions

Your conversations will primarily be with cities, municipalities, school districts, universities, transit agencies, government facilities, property owners, property management companies, apartment developers and real estate organisations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to prospective clients across the United States.
• Research target organisations and identify key decision-makers.
• Introduce our services and qualify potential opportunities.
• Schedule discovery meetings for the US sales team.
• Follow up with prospects through structured outreach sequences.
• Research companies and contacts using LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, company websites and other approved resources.
• Build useful account profiles to support the sales team's prospect conversations.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, notes, lead statuses and follow-up actions.
• Review and qualify target account lists against defined criteria.
• Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions and performance reviews.
• Assist with CRM and sales administration as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in outbound calling, appointment setting, inside sales, telemarketing or lead generation.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• A clear, professional and engaging telephone manner.
• Confidence communicating with senior decision-makers and handling objections.
• Strong research and data-verification skills.
• Experience using LinkedIn, ZoomInfo or similar prospecting tools.
• The ability to maintain consistent daily call activity without compromising quality.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate CRM administration.
• Reliable internet, a quiet home-office environment and professional equipment.

• R25,000 basic salary plus performance-based commissions.
• Commission Structure:
  • R800 for each qualified meeting held (Target 10 a month = R8 000)
  • R8000+ for a closed deal, potentially increasing based on the size of the contract (Target 1.5 a month = R12 000)
• Total Earning Potential: R45 000 per month CTC
