Role Description
Korrus is opening the lighting showroom channel, and we need someone who already lives in it. You will build a national trade channel selling OIO, our consumer circadian lighting brand, and Soraa, our premium LED lamp brand, into lighting showrooms across the US: the independents, the regional chains, the showroom networks, and the designer showrooms where lighting designers and interior designers shop for their clients.
This is a new, distinct channel. It sits apart from our commercial specification business and apart from our national retail channel. You will build it from the ground up: the account base, the programs, the displays, and the trade relationships that make showrooms sell what they stock. We are hiring the showroom network you have already earned; you should know the owners, buyers, and lighting consultants across this industry, and they should know you.
Responsibilities
-
The national showroom account base: prospect, open, and grow independent lighting showrooms, regional chains (for example Capitol Lighting, Seattle Lighting, Progressive Lighting), large specialty retailers with showroom footprints (for example Lamps Plus, Lightology), and design-forward showrooms serving the trade.
-
Showroom network and association coverage: buying groups and co-op networks such as Lighting One (300+ independent showrooms) and the American Lighting Association membership as a prospecting and program surface.
-
Sell-in and sell-through: opening orders, display placement, replenishment programs, and the merchandising that keeps our products lit on the floor rather than boxed in the back.
-
The trade motion: educating showroom sales staff and lighting consultants on circadian lighting and Soraa lamp quality so they recommend it, and equipping them to sell it to designers and homeowners.
-
Designer pull-through: working with the lighting designers and interior designers who buy through showrooms, and building the programs that make our brands their default recommendation.
-
Rep coverage strategy: recommending, appointing, and managing independent rep agencies where the territory math calls for them, and selling direct where it does not.
-
Industry presence: representing the brands at showroom-channel markets and events, including Dallas market weeks and association conferences.
-
Channel economics and reporting: pricing, programs, and margin structure for the channel, plus account plans, pipeline, and forecast reporting for leadership.
Qualifications
-
7+ years selling into US lighting showrooms, on the manufacturer side or the rep agency side, with lamp, decorative, or portable lighting category experience.
-
Pre-existing, deep, and current relationships with showroom owners and buyers across the US. This is a hard requirement: you should be able to name the showrooms that would take your call in your first month.
-
Working knowledge of the showroom channel's structure: buying groups, co-op networks, the American Lighting Association ecosystem, rep agency territories, and market-week cadence.
-
A record of launching a new brand or line into the showroom channel and building it to steady reorder volume.
-
Fluency in showroom economics: display investments, stocking programs, margin expectations, freight and terms, and staff incentive structures.
-
The ability to teach: you can make a showroom floor team confident selling a technical story, and you can make circadian lighting simple without dumbing it down.
-
Strong negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills; comfortable operating solo in the field and reporting crisply to executive leadership.
Requirements
-
You have worked with or within a rep agency covering the showroom channel and know how the good ones operate.
-
American Lighting Association credentials such as Lighting Specialist or Certified Lighting Consultant, or you have trained showroom staff pursuing them.
-
Experience selling premium or high-CRI lamp brands into the trade.
-
Relationships with lighting designers and interior designers who buy through showrooms.
Benefits
-
Full-time, Exempt
-
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000
-
Location: Remote with significant domestic travel to retail partner headquarters and stores.
-
Reports to: TBD
