Role Description

The General Agent Growth Manager is based on the Employer & Individual Small Business Sales team and is responsible for driving growth in the 2-50 space by maximizing our General Agent distribution channel. The role manages all aspects of the GA relationships for in-state and out-of-state business.

• Drive medical and specialty sales to customers in the 1-100 (or more depending on the market) employee range.
• GA partnerships represent anywhere from 20-80% of our sales depending on the market.
• Strategically manage a list of General Agencies to educate, train, and support GA partners.
• Accountable for all GA relationships in a market.
• Build relationships with assigned agencies and drive GA specific sales initiatives.
• Educate agents on UHC programs and processes.
• Monitor growth metrics and hold GAs accountable for results.
• Meet and exceed sales targets and activity metrics.
• Demonstrate profound market knowledge and sales acumen.
• Conduct competitive market analysis and consult on findings.
• Leverage technology to build and manage effective relationships.
• Maintain accurate reporting of activity and results through multiple sales tools and CRM.
• Subject matter expert and point of escalation for GA issues.
• Maintain inventory of forms, marketing materials, and pricing grids.
• Professional presentation skills both in-person and remotely.
• Proactively engage and seek training opportunities.
• Willing to work remotely and in General Agent offices.

Qualifications

• Insurance license or willingness to obtain required license within 30 days of hire.
• 3+ years of proven successful customer relationships experience in a complex sales environment (health care industry preferred).
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook).
• Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
• Willing and able to travel up to 25% depending on business need.
• Reside in commuting distance to Philadelphia, PA or Newark, NJ.
