Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on dry van brokerage experience
• Comfortable reading the freight market, sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, and handling freight when plans change
• Strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, urgency, and ownership; candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate these capabilities
• Competitive and motivated by winning
• Confidence in handling difficult conversations over the phone
• Able to stay organized when things get hectic
• Highly attentive to details and accuracy
• Proactive in identifying problems and figuring out how to resolve them
• Eager to take responsibility and make individual performance matter
• Able to analyze and adjust to changes in the freight market
• Able to provide customers with competitive market rates
• Experience with expedited freight, partial truckload, or additional transportation modes is a plus

Requirements

• Manage dry van shipments from quotation through final delivery
• Analyze freight market conditions and develop competitive pricing
• Source capacity and negotiate carrier rates
• Book, dispatch, and manage carriers
• Select carriers based on service quality, pricing, risk, and load requirements
• Quote dry van full truckload (FTL), expedited, and partial truckload services as needed
• Submit bids through customer transportation portals
• Track shipments proactively and communicate issues before customers request updates
• Coordinate directly with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, sales teams, and operations teams
• Resolve problems while protecting customer relationships and profit margins
• Expand into additional transportation modes and responsibilities as opportunities develop
