[Hiring] Business Development Representative @Steer

Role Description

We're looking for a Business Development Representative to help build and scale our outbound motion into the mid-market segment at Steer, multi-location, full service auto repair groups operating 4 or more rooftops. This role is focused on uncovering and developing opportunities with growing repair groups, engaging multiple stakeholders across an organization, and guiding prospects through a longer, more consultative sales process than a typical single-shop deal.

This is not a passive, inbound role. You will be expected to:

• Create opportunities from scratch
• Navigate multi-location organizations with more than one decision-maker
• Develop messaging that resonates with owners and operators managing growing, complex businesses

This is a fully remote role for US-based candidates.

Compensation: 65k base + 25-35k variable (90-100k OTE)

Requirements

• Must Have:
  • BDR or SDR experience, ideally including outbound prospecting into organizations with more than one decision-maker.
  • Proven Track Record: A history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and activity metrics.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with comfort in phone-based outreach.
  • Presentation Skills: Experience performing product demonstrations and consultations.
• Nice to Have:
  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with the automotive industry, home services, or blue-collar sectors.
  • Multi-Location Experience: Experience prospecting into franchise, multi-unit, or multi-location businesses.
  • SaaS Background: Experience selling software or working in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Tech Stack: Experience using CRM tools (like HubSpot or Salesforce) to manage opportunities.
