Role Description

Strategic Insights helps PrizePicks make sharper decisions through rigorous consumer, market, and business understanding. As a Senior Researcher on the team, you’ll connect internal operational data, external market intelligence, and targeted research to explain what is changing and what the business should do next.

• Own a portfolio of syndicated market-intelligence data sources, ensuring data quality, useful reporting cadences, and clear access to the market signals teams need.
• Analyze internal operational data alongside external market, consumer, and competitive data to identify meaningful trends, reconcile conflicting signals, and distinguish durable change from noise.
• Translate business questions into focused research objectives and analysis plans, leveraging hypotheses, success measures, and the right approach for answering them using existing data, primary research, or both.
• Lead the delivery of research that contextualizes market and business trends, including study briefs, partner management, quality review, analysis, synthesis, and stakeholder action.
• Build repeatable views of category health, customer behavior, competitive movement, and market shifts that help teams track change over time and make faster, better-informed decisions.
• Turn complex analyses into clear recommendations that connect market, consumer, and business trends to key metrics and strategic goals, clarifying what is happening, why it matters, and what to investigate, prioritize, or change next.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in market research, consumer insights, market intelligence, business analytics, strategy, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience combining operational, customer, or product data with syndicated, market, competitive, or consumer data to answer real business questions.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with hands-on capability in Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, a business-intelligence platform, or comparable analytical tools.
• Experience personally designing and delivering quantitative and qualitative research, owning methodology, quality, synthesis, and recommendation end to end.
• Deep experience with generating and analyzing survey data, leveraging advanced analysis methodologies.
• Comfort running qualitative studies and cog tests as needed to complement quantitative analyses.
• Exceptional ownership and follow-through.
• You use AI-enabled research and analysis tools responsibly for synthesis, open-text analysis, or workflow acceleration, with human validation and sound judgment.

Requirements

• Experience in sports, gaming, entertainment, consumer technology, or another culturally fast-moving category.
• A record of building repeatable feedback systems that improve decisions across fast-moving launch cycles.
• This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can move comfortably between data, research, and business context. You will not simply report trends; you will explain their implications and help PrizePicks act on them.
