Role Description
We need a skilled Project Manager to lead a remote technical team and ensure efficient and accurate project delivery. The successful candidate will oversee AI Engineers, Python Developers, Server Managers/Data Loaders, and Excel Power Query/DAX Experts—while also rolling their sleeves up to work on tasks themselves (hands-on).
- Direct and manage the remote team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
- Oversee task planning and execution using sprint-based methodologies.
- Engage with partner companies to confirm requirements and provide progress updates.
- Lead projects through all phases, proactively resolving barriers to success.
- Contribute hands-on effort to project tasks as required, beyond supervisory duties.
- Offer technical insight and support leveraging expertise in Python.
- Guarantee data accuracy and integrity across all project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years management experience, specifically managing remote working programming teams.
- Proven track record with sprint-based projects (Agile/Scrum).
- Strong understanding of Python and Excel.
- Experience with Power BI will be an added benefit.
Requirements
- Ability to push results without bureaucracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with database management, Power BI, data security, or Azure.
- Familiarity with AI, data loading, or Power Query/DAX.
- Comfort with tools like ClickUp, Jira, Trello, or Asana.
Benefits
- This role requires you to work EST hours Mon - Fri from 9am to 6pm EST (15h00 to 24h00 South African time - subject to change dependant on daylight savings).
- A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory.
- A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages.
