Role Description

The IT Project Manager will lead and support IT projects and work streams for the G IT. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful history of managing Platform Transformations including Intranet Sites in a large scale, fast-paced working environment. This internal client-facing role will drive planning and execution of medium and large-scale projects for the IT Portfolio across various platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

• Strong background in SDLC and Project Management Principles (Project Planning, Project requirements, Project Estimating, Resource Management, Scheduling and Controlling, Facilitation, Risk Management, Procurement, Reporting Status, and Change Management)
• Familiarity in Project/Program Management toolset, including financial systems and other key technologies
• Responsible for project oversight, execution, and controls
• Develops project plan/schedules
• Contributes to project initiation, scope definition and scope control
• Drives tasks to completion and maintain schedules
• Prepares project status reports for PMO and/or stakeholders
• Provide project status, anticipate challenges, communicate dependencies, issues and risks
• Supervises project team to successful project completion
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to provide consistent and collaborative project delivery
• Tracks progress and adherence to plan for scope, budget, and schedule
• Ensure the quality and on time delivery of technical implementation projects with supporting deliverables and artifacts
• Drive discovery phase to gather initial requirements and business goals
• Establish business case to justify investments required
• Establish project plan and cost estimates and manage delivery to ensure that goals and value propositions are met in line with original estimates
• Oversee 3rd party vendor resources to deliver on day-to-day execution
• Complete lessons learned sessions at the conclusion of each delivered project with a focus on continuous service improvement

Governance (Project Risk/Budget Risk)

• Audit PMO specific content such as risks, issues, and changes
• Audit Financial data monthly to ensure alignment between forecast and actual
• Provide weekly and monthly reporting towards attaining better data quality

Project Team Support

• Coordinate and/or provide support to project management team
• Regularly monitor Project Plans, Project Schedules, Budgets and Expenditures
• Provide analytical support to PM in executing projects
• Conduct performance enhancement process in accordance with guidance from Portfolio and Project Managers
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and project plans for all phases of systems planning, development and implementation

Supervision and Leadership

• Provides an additional level of quality oversight amongst project management team

Project Management

• Develop, update, and manage project schedules and budgets for Lifecycle and Nondiscretionary Projects
• Communicate Project Status to all necessary parties
• Assist in managing all phases of the assigned projects
• Supporting Initiation efforts such as working with team to create project request forms and business cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Expert experience level project management experience, including tracking and planning projects
• Expert experience level working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
• Expert experience level working with 3rd party vendors and contracted temp project resources
• Intermediate level experience with gathering requirements from the client/business and documentation
• Expert experience level with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle
• Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and/or Senior Leadership
• Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
• Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
• Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment
• Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
