[Hiring] Project Manager @Draganfly Innovations

YDay - Draganfly Innovations is hiring a remote Project Manager. 💸 Salary: $80,000–$100,000 usd 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Draganfly is seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of customer-facing, technical, and cross-functional projects across the organization. This role will serve as a primary point of coordination between customers, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Field Operations, Logistics, and other internal stakeholders to ensure projects are clearly defined, properly resourced, effectively managed, and successfully delivered.

The ideal candidate is an experienced project manager with the technical aptitude to work effectively alongside engineering and technical teams without needing to serve as the subject matter expert. This individual will manage multiple concurrent projects, communicate directly with customers and partners, coordinate cross-functional teams, and maintain strong execution throughout the project lifecycle.

This role reports directly to the PMO Lead and works closely with Program Managers, functional leaders, technical teams, subject-matter experts, cross-functional teams, and Project Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & Delivery
    • Lead assigned customer-facing, technical, integration, special, and cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery and closeout.
    • Establish and maintain project objectives, scope, schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, stakeholders, and acceptance criteria.
    • Develop project plans aligned with the complexity, risk, and delivery requirements of each initiative.
    • Maintain accountability for assigned projects while coordinating work across multiple functional teams.
    • Monitor project progress, resource requirements, schedules, and deliverables to support successful execution.
    • Identify and address project risks, constraints, schedule impacts, and resource requirements in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders.
    • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining clear priorities and consistent stakeholder communication.
    • Support internal Engineering projects as portfolio capacity permits.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary project-management point of contact for assigned customers, partners, and external stakeholders.
    • Facilitate customer and technical meetings to define requirements, integration needs, delivery expectations, and acceptance criteria.
    • Translate technical project progress into clear customer-facing updates while enabling Engineering personnel to remain focused on technical execution.
    • Coordinate with Engineering and technical subject matter experts to obtain accurate information and resolve customer questions.
    • Communicate project updates, changes, decisions, and milestones professionally and transparently.
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinate project activities across Engineering, Operations, Field Operations, Sales/Business Development, Logistics, Procurement, and other functional teams.
    • Establish clear ownership of project deliverables, actions, dependencies, and handoffs.
    • Facilitate internal project meetings to review progress, priorities, risks, and upcoming milestones.
    • Coordinate technical requirements between customers and internal teams while supporting efficient use of technical resources.
    • Ensure appropriate stakeholders are engaged at each stage of the project lifecycle.
    • Support the execution of special initiatives that span multiple organizational functions.
  • Demo, Training & Event Oversight
    • Maintain project-level accountability for assigned demonstrations, customer trainings, trade shows, and operational events.
    • Coordinate personnel, equipment, logistics, customer requirements, and readiness activities leading up to execution.
    • Partner with Project Coordinators to ensure event intake, scheduling, calendar management, readiness tracking, logistics follow-up, and administrative requirements are completed.
    • Monitor project readiness, customer requirements, schedule alignment, and operational planning.
    • Support pre-event and customer planning activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, engineering, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, functional teams, or workstreams.
  • Strong project-management fundamentals, including scope, schedule, risk, dependency, stakeholder, and issue management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, ownership, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate personnel who do not directly report to the Project Manager.
  • Ability to understand technical discussions sufficiently to identify requirements, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions.
  • Comfortable using project-management and collaboration software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required in support of customer engagements, project execution, demonstrations, integrations, validation activities, and other business needs.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • PMP certification or demonstrated progress toward PMP certification.
  • Experience working in aerospace, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), robotics, engineering, or another technical environment.
  • Experience managing technical integration, product-development, or customer-delivery projects.
  • Experience working directly with engineers and technical subject matter experts.
  • Experience supporting government, military, public-safety, or enterprise customers.
  • Experience using ClickUp or a comparable project-management platform.
  • General technical aptitude across mechanical, electrical, software, communications, aviation, or related technology areas.

Compensation Package

  • Competitive salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD
  • Health Coverage Reimbursement: We reimburse the cost of your existing or preferred healthcare plan (amount varies depending on family size).
  • 401(k) program with employer matching
  • Generous time-off program, including vacation, wellness days, and the week off between Christmas and New Year’s.
  • Professional development support, including assistance in obtaining or maintaining role-relevant certifications (e.g., PMP certification, where applicable).
