Role Description

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Project Manager with experience managing and executing industrial water and wastewater design projects in Brown and Caldwell’s Private Sector Business Unit. In this role, the Project Manager will utilize design and project management expertise to deliver high quality design projects within budget and on schedule. Specific work may include managing facility planning, design, construction engineering, and other tasks on current and future projects.

The Project Manager will lead the planning, scheduling, and delivery of complex design projects for industrial water and wastewater systems. The role is responsible for developing and executing detailed project plans that address quality management, schedule and milestones, resource allocation, and budget. The Project Manager will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to lead the projects, monitor progress, identify risks or potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track. Success in this position requires familiarity with design in the industrial water industry.

This role will collaborate with the Private Sector Business Unit Portfolio Design Manager, Portfolio Design Leads, and Chief Engineer to lead the execution of best delivery practices and recommended design delivery approaches for our industrial clients. Client service and support for marketing and proposals will also be included in this role.

• Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
• Proven ability in project planning and management, including budget, risk, contract, change and quality management and safety leadership.
• Advanced understanding of quality and change management tools, techniques and processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of contract management and client service.
• Strong business acumen and ability to align project outcomes with business goals.
• Excellent client service skills and ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Proven team/staff management skills to build and maintain strong staff relationships.
• Proven ability to identify and cultivate opportunities with existing clients.

Requirements

• Typically, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing mid-size to large projects with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Competency in development and monitoring of moderate project schedules.
• Competency in development and monitoring of moderate project budgets.
• Competency in Risk Management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience in project planning, risk and change management, and contract management of mid-size projects.
• Previous experience applying specialized knowledge in project management to deliver the solutions for clients.
