Role Description

The Principal Proj-Prgm Mgr will be responsible for:

• Defining work strategies, aligning these with resources and desired client outcomes, and overseeing planning and execution of the large scale implementation.
• Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues.
• Gathering and updating deliverables, project materials, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents.
• Speaking about details of the project to both the business and technical teams, including clients.
• Managing cross-functional interdependencies.
• Improving processes to optimize performance and value over time.
• Providing proactive risk management and issue/problem resolution as required.
• Ensuring technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working with senior management.
• Directing the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs.
• Conducting analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit assessments.
• Monitoring financials to ensure budget compliance.
• Representing project status to client and Optum leadership.
• Addressing project challenges with key client personnel and within Optum.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT Project Management experience
• 2+ years of client facing experience
• 2+ years of working hands-on with all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
• 2+ years of experience in project management for a State Medicaid Agency or a large healthcare management organization
• Up to 10% travel requirement
• Ability and willingness to work on Hawai'i Standard Time (HST)
• Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
• 2+ years of experience in project management for an EDW project with data migration
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Requirements

• Experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) session
• 2+ years experience with project in the M&O phase of the project lifecycle

Company Description

HI HAP/EDW Project go live is 12/31/2025. Project will require strong project manager to transition from DDI to M&O and continue to support emerging changes, etc.
