[Hiring] Director, Event Operations & Planning @TKO

Role Description

The Director, Event Operations & Planning for On Location, Combat Sports team will play a central role in working with more than 10 functional areas across On Location that will sell, deliver, and innovate Hospitality and VIP Experience programs alongside UFC, WWE, Zuffa Boxing, and TKO.

• Collecting and evaluating functional area project deadlines, milestones and deliverables.
• Measuring the project health and summarizing project progress according to milestones set at the Rights holder partner level, or by the On Location functional areas.
• Identifying key areas of risk or delay that require additional focus or escalation to executive leadership.
• Serve as a client-facing team member, coordinating meetings, reporting, and project deliverables with our Partners and internally.
• Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
• Establishing & maintaining effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
• Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts (schedule, partner, financial).
• Serving as a central hub of information and support for the entire team.
• Supporting special strategic growth initiatives within the Combat team from creation to completion.
• Building, managing and training project management systems and new tools.
• Accelerating alignment across teams, integrating different functions, and coaching teams and leaders.
• Establishing operational accountability for the Combat team and sharing best practices.
• Ensuring teams maintain best practices with data across systems.
• Working with people with different styles and navigating learning situations.
• Maintaining open and honest communication to build and maintain a dynamic team mentality.
• Monitoring project progress and setting deadlines.
• Anticipating delays that may occur on the client side and apprising the team of any changes.
• Solving issues that arise during every project.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in Event or Project Management.
• Proven experience in event operations, event product building, project management & project management tools.
• Problem solving, creative solutions and strong communication are essential.
• Forward thinker with strong planning skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones.
• Ability to distill complex projects in a simple and understandable method.
• Ability to lead project teams of various sizes.
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
• Experience as a large-scope project manager.
• Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Understanding of Project Management Systems; Airtable, Smartsheet.
• Excellent PowerPoint capabilities.
