Role Description

In this role you will lead the product vision for core components of the Scientific Data and AI Cloud, including next-gen scientific data management and lab automation solutions. You will do this in close collaboration with your peers across AI/Ml and scientific use cases.

  • Your persona-based focus will be the IT teams supporting Science, Operations and Manufacturing at the largest pharmaceutical enterprises in the world.
  • This persona has an urgent need to enable scientific and operational outcomes by transforming scientific data (experiment context and design, instrument outputs, analysis results, CRO & CDMO) and making it available in Tetra’s Scientific Data and AI Cloud.
  • You will work closely with our customers, our engineering teams, and our architects to guide the strategy which applies our platform to the highest value problems.
  • The ideal candidate has strong technical depth of the requirements for scientific data management.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and lead the product strategy for our next-gen scientific data management and lab automation solutions and articulate this vision in every customer interaction.
  • Evangelize and ratify your roadmap every day, every week.
  • Build deep relationships with our customers' IT teams; deeply understand their processes and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market research and user feedback sessions to understand the needs and challenges faced by scientific and operational IT translating these insights into high value product features.
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers who will specialize in different areas of the products surface area (for example data management, data integration, data accessibility).
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the product interface is user-friendly, facilitating seamless data access, reuse and analysis.
  • Make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market.
  • Build and maintain annual release plan, manage feature delivery from discovery to validation in production.
  • Be conversant with architects and engineers in order to prioritize, develop, and launch product features that align with our customers needs.
  • Research competition and market trends and propose roadmap trade-offs between parity and innovation.
  • Decompose complex use cases and technical requirements into smaller manageable stories by creating and prioritizing a backlog with your engineering team.
  • Bring creative ideas and proposals to development teams and executives supported by qualitative justification and quantitative analysis.
  • Develop and validate new concept prototypes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in life science software product management, ideally with a vendor producing LIMS, ELN, or SDMS products.
  • Proven track record of successfully championing trajectory-changing shifts in the biopharma industry which have resulted in revenue and customer growth.
  • Fearless ability to interact with customers and synthesize their insights to drive product strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of data management, data visualization techniques and tools, as well as experience managing data based products that deal with complex data, processing and analysis.
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful products, from ideation through implementation.
  • Experience of building and leading highly technical product management teams.
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer locations and whiteboard the product strategy with them.
  • Experience of working within a biopharma company in an IT related function is a big plus.
