Role Description

The Regional Medical Director (RMD) is a field-based medical/scientific expert responsible for delivering impactful medical education across a broad range of pediatric sub-specialty providers, including:

  • Pediatric endocrinologists
  • Pediatric neurologists
  • Geneticists
  • Other clinicians who care for patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases

With a primary focus on developing durable external relationships and conducting fair and balanced scientific exchange with thought leaders (TLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs), this position is central to a successful product launch and sustained post-launch engagement. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience launching therapies and will be instrumental to Egetis's efforts to bring new treatments to patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases while also supporting future pipeline programs and clinical trial execution.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting launch of therapies in the rare or ultra-rare disease space is strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry within Medical Affairs, including significant field medical experience.
  • Extensive experience in rare or ultra-rare diseases required.
  • Established relationships with healthcare professionals and thought leaders in pediatric endocrinology, pediatric neurology, clinical genetics, or neurogenetics are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credible scientific relationships across multidisciplinary care teams, centers of excellence, and other stakeholders serving rare disease communities.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex clinical and scientific information effectively to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically evaluate and interpret scientific and clinical data and literature.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and operate independently in a field-based role.
  • The ideal candidate has experience working in a small, entrepreneurial biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization and is energized by the opportunity to help build field medical capabilities, contribute beyond traditional role boundaries, and adapt as organizational needs evolve.
  • Comfort operating with a high degree of ownership, agility, collaboration, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, or PA) or other relevant advanced healthcare qualification required, together with field medical experience appropriate for the role.
