Role Description

We are seeking experienced Patient Account Representatives to support a healthcare organization's Revenue Cycle team. This role focuses on resolving aged accounts receivable, recovering outstanding balances, researching claim issues, interpreting EOBs, and managing complex insurance follow-up activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital/facility billing experience, Epic proficiency, and a background working with commercial, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid MCO payers.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve aged accounts receivable and reduce outstanding AR balances.
• Research, analyze, and resolve denied or underpaid claims.
• Interpret EOBs and payer responses to determine appropriate next steps.
• Submit appeals and supporting documentation for claim recovery.
• Perform insurance follow-up with commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid payers.
• Document account activity accurately within Epic.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support revenue cycle improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of Medical AR, Collections, Recovery, or Denials experience.
• Hospital/Facility billing experience required.
• Epic experience required.
• Experience working aged AR accounts (90-180+ days).
• Strong understanding of insurance follow-up, denials management, and appeals.
• Ability to accurately interpret EOBs and payer policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Salisbury, MD.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
