Role Description

The Virtual Team RVT plays a unique role in aiding the veterinarians and in-clinic care team in achieving greater efficiency in overall patient care.

Role Overview:

Virtual Team RVTs will apply their previously developed professional technical skills in:

• Anesthesia
• Surgery
• Dentistry
• Laboratory testing
• Patient nursing care
• Client education

They will virtually assist clients via online chat or phone call, advising on various subjects from minor questions and concerns to post-operative issues. The Virtual Team RVT is responsible for:

• Effectively triaging pets
• Determining whether they require emergency care with a larger referral hospital
• Same-day or next-day urgent care appointment with Juno Veterinary
• At-home care recommendations
• Submitting requests for prescription refills

The team works closely with the in-clinic team to ensure high quality and continuous care. RVTs need to communicate clearly with:

• Veterinarians
• Other practice personnel
• Clients

The RVT must be a detail-oriented person who can:

• Make good decisions
• Respond quickly and calmly to crises
• Maintain high standards of patient care

This often requires significant multi-tasking and a creative thinking ability. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to set a good example, promote a positive work environment, and provide direction and motivation to coworkers are important aspects of the position.

Please note this position is for a 3-Month Contract.

Shift Type: Overnight Rotation. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday 12am - 8am EST with the option to increase shift length if desired.

We are seeking candidates based in Ontario or British Columbia.

Qualifications

• A valid Veterinary Technician License (RVT, LVT) in Ontario and/or British Columbia
• 2+ years as an RVT with triage experience
• A strong interest in emerging technology, AI and enjoyment in learning new operating systems/platforms
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficiency in multi-tasking across many communication platforms
• The ability to communicate well with cross functional teams and members

Requirements

• The role of Virtual RVT at Juno requires evening, weekend and holiday work
• Support members/clients who may be experiencing emotional distress and/or frustration
• This position will be based remotely with potential occasional travel required locally
• Extensive use of keyboard/text/chat functionality in addition to the continued use of a computer throughout your shift

• Discovery Video Call with our Virtual Care Manager (45 minutes)
• Video Interview with Medical Operations team (45 minutes)
• Reference Check
• Contract review
